ESFRI, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures, is a strategic instrument to develop the scientific integration of Europe and to strengthen its international outreach.
In 2022 ESFRI established a Working Group to get a better understanding of the collaborative relationships between Research Infrastructures (RI) and industry (as RI user, collaborator or component provider) and to identify the areas where RI need further support in developing relevant guidance documents that would further enhance collaboration with industry. Moreover, and given the planned approach by the European Commission to develop a European Technology Infrastructures (TI) landscape as a part of the ERA policy Action 12, the Group also aimed to identify a better understanding of the roles that both Research and Technology Infrastructures will play going forward and, more importantly, how they can both complement one another.
EFIS Research Director, Jelena Angelis, was appointed by the European Commission’s DG RTD as an external expert to this Working Group.
